NEW YORK CITY POWERBOAT POKER RUN
Hudson River, New York City

WELCOME TO AN EXPERIENCE!!!

Personal Floatation Devices are mandatory and to be worn by all occupants.

Upon arrival at Liberty Landing Marina, 80 Audrey Zapp Drive, Jersey City, NJ   07305, if you are towing your boat, pull directly into the Service/Boat yard/Travel lift yard section and make arrangements to launch. Please contact Bob at 201-985-8000 ext 120 or Dan (service manager) at ext 119 or Dan’s cell is 201-988-5949 …for launching and “needs”. . The fee is $300.00 round-trip. All rigs and trailers are to be parked in the service area.

Michelle Boggs is the marina manager in case you need her help; her ext. is 218 and her cell is 646-808-9777.

We have D Dock from Thursday thru Sunday to moor the boats (front line for OUTERLIMITS).

…they are excited to have us back!  Let’s make them look good too!

I recommend you travel/tow on Thursday… or real early on Friday…Friday afternoon is always gridlock on I-95 through the Bronx and George Washington Bridge…terrible experience!

Pull directly into the boatyard/launch area. Security will be there 24 hours.

Once in the water, you may berth on D Dock (where the fuel station is).

If you are coming by sea, go directly to the fuel dock and request a slip…and fill up while you are there because there will not be any time on Saturday morning.

Our NPBA Registration HQ is at the Marina Store at the entrance to D Dock. Adjacent to that is Maritime Parc Restaurant/Bar…our ‘social’ HQ.

Please check-in at the registration table to:

Complete Registration: Show proof of Insurance and sign the “Release of Liability” Form.  All passengers and captain must write their name, address, sex, date of birth and sign this form.

The Captain and passengers must belong to the National Powerboat Association.      The membership form is available on-line MEMBERSHIP FORM     and at the NPBA  registration desk.

This event will be videotaped and photographed for TV and magazines. An advance purchase insures your boat being filmed and/or photographed. Upon completing the order form, Photo and Video placards will be issued with your official number on it and are to be placed on the port windscreen/windshield. This is important so we can identify you on the docks and from the helicopters.

Trophies will be awarded to the “BEST LOOKING BOAT’, “BEST LOOKING CREW”. “KING NAVIGATOR OF THE CATS”,  “KING NAVIGATOR OF THE V-BOTTOMS”, “SPIRIT OF THE NPBA”,  “BEST POKER HAND”, “ 2ND BEST POKER HAND”, and “3RD BEST POKER HAND”….and more.

Please fly and American Flag during the PATRIOTIC PARADE TO THE BRIDGE…at 10 knots or less…mandated by the Coast Guard and Homeland Security!

STAY BEHIND THE OFFICIAL PACE BOAT at 10 knots or less until I drop the Green Flag at the George Washington Bridge. The “New York” side of the Hudson River is for Commercial traffic, stay to the West/New Jersey side. As we leave the docks, allow time for the OFFICIAL PACEBOAT to get into position, on the NYC side of the Hudson River. Stay to the PORT SIDE OF THE PACEBOAT…there may be an international swim race around Manhattan that morning…lets give them some room.

As we travel from CP #1 (Ossining) to CP#2 (Peekskill), keep the WHITE BUOYS on your Starboard side as we pass the Indian Pt. Nuclear Power Station…if you go inside those buoys, you are going to intercepted by the NAVY…with guns drawn!

If you miss a checkpoint, courtesy card(s) will be given to you back at Liberty Landing Marina.

All cards must be turned in by 5 PM. Do not open your sealed cards, the scorer will do so and post the results. Again, you can pick additional cards back at the marina if you missed any checkpoints on the run…so will have 5 cards to ‘play’.

6 PM: AWARDS Presented.

Remember, no drinking of alcohol in boats while boats are being operated and maintain a zero policy…until we are back on the dock…then we ROCK!

This is 75 Mile Run up the Hudson River and back
